Samsung Galaxy S25 Series with Snapdragon Satellite – A New Rival for Apple

January 25, 2025
The Galaxy S25 series uses the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This chip delivers excellent performance and includes advanced emergency features. One of the key features is Snapdragon Satellite, Qualcomm’s answer to Apple’s Emergency SOS via satellite.
What Snapdragon Satellite Does
Snapdragon Satellite helps users send messages when there is no cellular network. It connects directly to satellites. Qualcomm introduced this feature in 2023, but it faced delays before reaching devices. Now, the Galaxy S25 series is the first to support it.
Samsung has not officially announced the feature for the Galaxy S25 yet. This may be because the company is still setting up the necessary infrastructure with its partners. However, the hardware of Samsung’s latest devices fully supports this feature.

Why the Feature Was Delayed
Snapdragon Satellite was compatible with older chips like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, it was not activated on those devices. This might have been because Android lacked proper support at the time or due to issues with Qualcomm’s partnership with Iridium Communications, which operates 66 satellites.
Now, with Android 15 supporting satellite messaging, Snapdragon Satellite works smoothly. This makes the Galaxy S25 series one of the first devices to offer reliable satellite messaging.
When Will It Be Available?
It’s unclear if Snapdragon Satellite will work when the Galaxy S25 launches. Samsung hasn’t said which regions will support this feature. Updates on availability are expected soon.
Special Pre-Order Offer
If you want to upgrade, Amazon has a great deal for early buyers. Pre-order a Galaxy S25 and get a $200 gift card. This makes it a great time to switch.
Why This Matters for Samsung Galaxy S25 Users
The latest flagships from samsung combine top performance with life-saving features. Snapdragon Satellite ensures users can stay connected even in remote areas or emergencies. Samsung’s work with Qualcomm and Iridium makes the Galaxy S25 series a leader in innovation. More updates will come, but this feature already sets a new standard for smartphones.
