MediaTek launched a new smartphone chip called the Helio G200. The processor is designed to be used in 4G smartphones and tablets. The new chip is an enhanced version of the old Helio G100 chipset but with some new features. They include enhanced camera experience, power efficiency, and connectivity.

MediaTek Launches Helio G200 Chipset for 4G Smartphones

Helio G200 is based on TSMC 6-nanometer process. It makes the chip more efficient and lowers power consumption. It features two Cortex-A76 CPUs operating at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 processors operating at 2.0 GHz. On the graphics side, it features Mali-G57 MC2 GPU with a 1.1 GHz clock rate. This offers a good balance of power efficiency and performance.

The chip supports LPDDR4X RAM that can provide speeds of 4266 Mbps. It takes advantage of the UFS 2.2 standard for memory, which also supports high speeds of writing and reading. When it comes to the display, it can take up to 2520×1080 pixels and 120 Hz refresh rate. Games and videos will thus have smoother graphics.

One of the major improvements in Helio G200 is in its camera capability. The processor can now handle one 200-megapixel camera or two 16-megapixel cameras. It can also handle 12-bit Dual Conversion Gain (DCG) that helps in HDR video capture. The above-mentioned feature was not available in the previous Helio G100 model.

MediaTek Launches Helio G200

MediaTek says that the G200 is 20% more power-efficient when using the camera compared to earlier iterations. That means longer battery life when you take photos and videos. On connectivity, the chip has support for 4G DC SAR technology. That boosts the signal in weak spots, giving you more stable performances in social media, messaging, and calls.

MediaTek has not yet announced when smartphones or tablets using the Helio G200 will be released. Nevertheless, the updates promise that we will be seeing it in many mid-range 4G phones soon.

Overall, Helio G200 is a worthy upgrade. It features better camera support, greater efficiency, and better connectivity. It’s the perfect solution for those who still stick with 4G networks. What are your thoughts on MediaTek’s new processor? Share in the comments!
