It appears that Monster Hunter Wilds fans could not sleep properly due to excitement for the upcoming second open beta of the game. Capcom just announced it recently and with this run, it would give players another chance to have a go at it until its full release.
Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto revealed the details about the second open beta in a video shared via the official Monster Hunter Wilds Twitter account.

According to TechRadar, the second open beta will be conducted in two phases :
- 1st Phase: Feb. 6 to 9
- 2nd Phase: Feb. 13 to 16.
The beta will be accessible across several consoles including Xbox Series X|S and PS5. If you have a PC, you can play it via Steam.
Players can enjoy the test without a PS Plus or Game Pass Core subscription, making it accessible for console gamers. Additionally, crossplay will be enabled, allowing friends across platforms to team up and hunt together seamlessly.

What’s in the Beta?
The second open beta will include content from the first playtest and all the exciting new additions:
- Character Creation: Customize your hunter and your Palico companion. If you participated in the first beta, your creation data will carry over. This data will also transfer to the full game upon its February 28 release.
- Story Content: A segment of the main story opens up, giving you a glimpse into the world of Monster Hunter Wilds.
The newest monster you can hunt is Doshaguma, the brand-new creature who debuted in the first beta. According to GosuGamers, Gypceros will be the returning fan-favorite monster in the game who will be exclusively added for the second beta.
What Exclusive Rewards Await Beta Participants
Players who join the second beta will receive a Palico weapon charm for use in the full game. This charming accessory adds a cool and exclusive touch to your Palico companion, celebrating your early involvement in the game’s development journey.
Development Status and Feedback
Tsujimoto has also confirmed the completion of full version development of the game, Monster Hunter Wilds. But since the first beta has been finished, its opinions will not carry over to the second. That is, all the adjustments according to consumer response will emerge in subsequent patches after the proper release of the game.
“This includes various adjustments and improvements,” he said, “but I hope you can understand that this means those improvements won’t be ready to make it into the second beta test.”
